'hence starting with the congregational study of this issue of the magazine, the conductor may call on persons whether they volunteer or not'.
i never saw this happen at my meeting.
We had a CO named John Magnusson. What great guy he was, no sarcasm intended. He was true friend and when he spoke to you it was as if you were the only person on the earth that mattered. He could see I was distracted during the meeting for service and one time called on me to answer a question he'd asked from the daily text. I was out there in thought, he knew it and wanted to catch me zoning. I laughed once I realized it was more about that than it was to get an answer. It was kind of like a teacher in class catching a student dozing. He had the biggest smile, I rattled off some BS and it was done. He never did that to anyone else in our congregation that I know of.
I never knew of anyone in my old congregation that called on people who didn't have thier hand up. Except in this case that was more of a friendly nudge, I think it is rude.

P.S. Anyone know John Magnusson or how he's doing? He was back in NY last I'd heard. Great guy.
if you are familiar with michael drosnins book "the bible code" then you have a better idea of how to respond.
is the bible code a bunch of malarkey or does it have some "truth" to it.
after all, there is a war going on right now in the middle east with syria, iran, lebanon and others all against israel.. will an escalating war cause the watchtower to print articles like" armageddon at hand!".
If one of the bullys in Israel's neighborhood nuke them, they will not have a homeland for the Palastinians and of course the Holy land would be all messed up. A little sacraligious even for the Muslims.
So, no Israel nuke action. Just another skirmish in the pathetic world of tribal religions on steriods.

ive been a member of this board for just over four years, and i have never posted an introduction.
i mostly stick to the "fluff" threads, because they are safe.
i wont be attacked for an unpopular point of view, or hurt anyone elses feelings.
Wow, that was an eye full. At least most everyone that you are close to is out of the Borg .How many others are out there being submissive to an AH like you were? Just amazing. How wonderful your eyes were opened and you took a walk from it. I know there will be others lurking who will benefit greatly from your story. For that, I thank you.
What of your daughter? Born in 91? She is a teen now, is she indoctrinated somewhat? How is she doing? WIth Granny and Gramps out it must be a little easier to steer her away from the hellhole you left.
All the best to you in your futher freedom from fear and the men in bad suits.

ok, i have thought about it too long and hard and came to the conclusion that this really is something that i want to do!
i don't know exactly how to write my letter to dis-associate myself and exactly who i should send it too.
i was readding somethings before that had talked about people sending a copy to there old friends to let them know as well.
In Between and Lovesdubs are a little behind on the announcement part. They no longer say "So and So has dissasociated themselves from the Christian Congregation, nor do they say anyone is disfellowshipped. IT is now simply this: "So and So is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses." Thats why the letters to your friends are so important. No one will know if you were cooking Meth or wrote a letter of DA. If I were to DA I would make sure there was a letter to all my friends first. I dont need to DA because I am faded big time.
May you have success and peace in your endeavour.

before i found this website, i accepted the fact that i was going to be destroyed at armageddon.
but now that i know it's a big lie, i don't worry about that.. but just for fun, if you could choose your armageddonly death, how would you like to go?
I will probably be looking for a parking place and get rammed by a bus that has gone out of control as the street opens up in front of us to swallow our vehicles and a little girl with her doll will fall into the crevice before us. I will be trapped in the car because the door will be jammed and I will look up to the sky and say, "What? Didn't I make enough return visits? Thanks alot, I thought you wouldn't forget the things I did towards the holy ones."

i just heard an old moody blues song i haven't heard in years.
it was actually a medley...it started out with a spoken word/poem piece called "in the beginning" before moving into "lovely to see you".. anyway, i had always gotten a kick out of the poem but hearing it today, after finding my way out of the jws, gives it a whole new meaning:.
1st voice(man): i think, therefore i am...i think.
Darth,
I saw them then too, they were with an orchestra, right? They were here in Sacramento California. Ray Thomas was singing Dr. Livingston I Presume and forgot the lyrics in the middle of the song. He started humming along and then just began laughing. It was funny because that song tears along at a great pace and I know I could never keep the lyrics straight to sing along. I think everyone laughed because we could relate to screwing the words up and humming when we couldn't remember them ourselves. Too funny.
It was a tremendous concert and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I just about died when Justin Hayward sang Nights in White Satin. It was like being in a time machine taking me back to my teens. What a voice he has.

i am collecting guitar musicians.......their music.
i am collecting great perfomances.....rare ones of musicians that would not otherwise be together......
i wold love your input.........and would share music with those interested.
Ok, this guy sounds like three or four people while he's playing. His name is Tommy Emmanuel. I've seen him in concert three times at the local brewery when he comes to town. (They have a wonderful little dinner stage setup.) You would do well to see him if you can. His CD's are very nice.

This site is very complete. See what you think. He met, played and recorded with Chet Atkins in years past. I think he's in his early forties.
I will never miss his shows.

this band can be a local, main stream etc..... my favorite local band was little blue crunchy things, they were from milwaukee, wi.

Interesting, I knew exactly what the quote was when I read it. I used to listen to the song "Question" and thought it sounded like a song about going door to door as a dub. Remember that song? Sounds like you're a MB fan. (I saw them in concert in 97 it was great) I would loved to have the geritol concession at that concert!
Question:
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?
'Cos when we stop and look around us,
There is nothing that we need,
In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed.
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the war of love is for
It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be
And when you stop and think about it
You won't believe it's true
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you.
I'm looking for someone to change my life,
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me,
To lose the love I knew
Could safely lead me through.
Between the silence of the mountains,
And the crashing of the sea,
There lies a land I once lived in,
And she's waiting there for me,
But in the grey of the morning,
My mind becomes confused,
Between the dead and the sleeping,
And the road that I must choose.
I'm looking for someone to change my life,
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me,
To lose the love I knew,
Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew,
To learn as we grow old
The secrets of our soul.
It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?
'Cos when we stop and look around us,
There is nothing that we need,
In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed.
Well, the chorus reminded me of F.Service.
Enough,
